Groundswell Fund strengthens U.S. movements for reproductive and social justice by resourcing intersectional grassroots organizing and centering the leadership of women of color – particularly those who are Black, Indigenous, and Transgender. We support the field in three ways:

We are one of the largest funders of women of color-led organizing in the U.S., supporting more than 150 organizations across the U.S.

Our Plan to Move $100M By 2025

The way to freedom for all people is to follow – and fund – those who know the way. That’s why we’re working to move $100M to grassroots organizing led by women of color and transgender and gender non-conforming people of color.

Groundswell provides an essential irrigation system for social justice movements – a channel into which individual donors and foundations can pour resources to reach vital work at the grassroots. See who designed and who has endorsed Groundswell’s new Blueprints.

Catalyst Fund

The Catalyst Fund uses donor outreach and matching grants to leverage and direct new resources to organizations that are led by women of color, low-income women, and transgender people and building an organized grassroots base of support for RJ.

Black Trans Fund

Supports Black transgender, gender non-conforming (TGNC), and non-binary communities to build power towards collective liberation. BTF seeks to address the lack of funding for Black trans communities in the U.S. through direct grantmaking, capacity building support, and funder organizing to transform philanthropy.

Birth Justice Fund

Supports organizing advocacy, and direct service delivery efforts to make high-quality midwifery and doula care and training accessible to women of color and low-income women: a key strategy in addressing alarming rates of poor infant and maternal health outcomes in communities of color.

Rapid Response Fund

Provides the philanthropic community with a vehicle for deploying resources quickly and strategically to Reproductive Justice and social justice organizations during unexpected and critical campaign fights and key opportunities.

Liberation Fund

Supports the strongest intersectional organizing by women of color and transgender people of color across a diversity of social change movements in the United States.
