Angélique Nguyễn Green

Chief Advancement Officer

she/her/hers

Angélique Nguyễn Green (she/her/hers) is queer, neurodivergent, first-generation biracial Vietnamese woman, and the Chief Development Officer of Groundswell Fund. She is responsible for the organization’s fundraising and development strategy and success, working closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with Groundswell’s vision, values, and 2020-2025 Blueprint.

With a deep commitment to social movements and a firm understanding of the role of racial capitalism and patriarchal systems of oppression in our society, she aspires to build power and solidarity through transformational partnerships with institutional and individual donors by grounding fundraising in race, equity, and social justice.

She brings over 15 years of experience in this sector, most recently serving as the Chief Development Officer at the Center for Popular Democracy / CPD Action, where she doubled the size of the development team, supported a leadership transition, whereby the two new Co-Executive Directors successfully met their fundraising goals in their first two years, and strengthened and expanded the portfolio of philanthropic partners to sustain the organizations’ combined $30m budget, and its subgranting to close to 50 affiliate organizations.

Prior to that, she served as Senior Development Director at the National Domestic Workers Alliance/Care In Action where she served as a strategic partner to its principals and led a team that executed a development plan that resulted in a 50% increase to the c3 budget and the doubling of the c4 budget in a critical election year. She also led successful development teams at the Center for Law and Social Policy and the Institute for Policy Studies.

Angelique holds BAs from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Sociology and Global Studies, with an emphasis on Socioeconomics and Politics. She graduated with an MA in International Relations and Organizations at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She has deep roots in the Netherlands, east Los Angeles, California, and the Washington, D.C. metro area. Outside of work, she enjoys reading poetry, trying a new recipe, spending quality time with her big blended family, daydreaming about drafting a screenplay, and listening to live music.
