Transgender Advocates, Knowledgeable, Empowering (TAKE) Resource List
TAKE offers a range of services to support members with care and healing from trauma, including peer support groups, retreats, life coaching, a transitional housing program and drop-in center, and a crisis fund.
Integrated Voter Engagement grantee Transgender Advocates Knowledgeable Empowering (TAKE) Resource Center is the only center of its kind that is led by Trans women of color in both Alabama and Pennsylvania. As the onslaught of anti-trans bills took over state legislatures in 2022, TAKE shifted how the organization supports and organizes, leveraging political education, voter registration, and voter engagement strategies to build political power in our communities.
TAKE is using grassroots organizing methods to identify and mobilize voters through Pride and community events, offering education on how legislatures are attacking trans-youth and how to fight back, helping the community process the rage and then catapulting them to take action.
In 2022, TAKE’s efforts gathered hundreds of supporter pledges in both Alabama and Pennsylvania, and then engaged and mobilized these new members through the midterms.
