Building Electoral Power Through Community Organizing: Freedom, Inc.

Wisconsin-based Freedom, Inc.  is a Black and Southeast Asian organization working with low- and no-income communities of color to achieve social justice through direct services, leadership development, and community organizing.

In 2023, their community members and organizers fought, organized, and continued building electoral power, helping elect more value-aligned justices to the state supreme court. Additionally, their work led to a victory in the Dane County Circuit Court’s rulings, solidifying Wisconsin Stat. 940.04 to allow consensual medical abortions.
