Ka’ū Women’s Health Collective

Honolulu, HI

Kāʻū Womenʻs Health Collective was founded in 2019 by a hui of moms to address reproductive justice issues impacting the health of Pāhala residents, from teen pregnancy to childbirth trauma to high rates of cancer and diabetes. Their mission to empower the women of Ka‘ū to improve the health of their community by holding space for active listening, knowledge exchange, and collective action begins with Pilina, the first of a 3-tiered effort to restore the power of women – the childbearers, the caregivers, and the workhorses – as a first step in realizing reproductive justice in their community.
