Born a CODA, child of deaf adults, Bev developed a strong sense of community providing sign language interpreting services for her mother and friends at an early age. As a Black, queer, mother of four, grandmother of three, Bev uses her ability to communicate with technology to support a stronger movement for racial and social justice behind the scenes. She became fascinated with computers as a teen. Computer installation and setup along with graphic design became her secret passion.
Bev began her career with Groundswell as an executive assistant and continued her path by becoming the operations & IT manager, IT manager, and currently, IT director. As IT Director, she utilizes her love of tech along with over 30+ years of experience in the administrative and customer service field, maintaining the virtual foundation upon which Groundswell stands as a completely remote organization. A unique unicorn of all trades with quick problem-solving abilities, Bev thrives under pressure. Following in the footsteps of the trailblazing elders around her, Bev dares to be powerful by utilizing her tech-savvy to support the movement behind the scenes.
She spends her free time with her family, reading, painting vibrant images, and traveling.
